[Food, Review] Antonio's Bar and Grill

Antonio's Bar & Grill

I’m currently on vacation, and since there are multiple different kinds of restaurants where I currently am; which is Philippines, I decided to review them. Only if I don’t attack the food before I remember that I’m suppose to write a review.

This is Antonio’s Bar & Grill restaurant. It was located in SM Davao.
We had arrived from Manila to Davao on the day, and decided to have lunch.  As we approached the restaurant, there was already a waitress from the restaurant who influences the people around the mall to come and eat at the restaurant.
The restaurant was packed with people, and we were a party of 14. So we had to wait. The waitress suggested that we order while waiting for our table to be ready, so that when the table is ready, the food will already be there. We did that, the menu was in Tagalog/Spanish with the English translation under it or right next to it in brackets. I couldn’t decide what to order, so just let every one order what they want and I would just pick off their food.

It took about 20 minutes for them to finish setting up our table, and took about 5-10 minutes for them to give us our plates and individual rice.

Our drinks were then served a few minutes later. I had a coke, while some of the others had an iced tea. The way this iced tea was served was something I have never seen before. It was served in this.

It was in a keg. It’s funny. I didn’t have the iced tea though, I stuck to my coke. A few minutes after the drinks arrived, the dishes were slowly coming to the table. The dishes that I had were the Tuna Belly, Pinapatok na Chicken (which means Exploding Chicken) and Crispy Chicken.

This is the Tuna Belly, I’m guessing it was marinated and grilled, topped with spring green onions and normal onions, and sided with baby tomatoes, and shredded carrots. The size of the dish was good enough for 3-4 people, depending on how much you take.
This tasted like tuna, but I think it was grilled with the scales on, because as I was eating it, I could feel something sharp. I usually get scared to eat fish because of the bones, so I usually avoid it. This is tuna, it has no bones, but it has scales, and I find things sharp and crispy on sea creatures not very appealing. But the tuna did tasted good, but I would probably not have it again.

This is the Pinapatok na Chicken (Exploding Chicken). This was sliced in front of the table before it was served to us. As the waiter was slicing the chicken, the was making crunchy exploding sounds, and that explains the “Pinapatok-ness” / “Exploiding-ness”.
Now this is was served with craving and calamancy lemon on the side with shredded carrots.
This tasted great, it was delicious, but for some reason the gravy tasted a bit off. It was different, probably because I wasn’t used to it. Gravy is different everywhere. This is partnered with the rice that was given to us.

This is the Crispy Chicken. But I am not sure. Because I wasn’t the one who ordered, and I forgot to write it down.
The dish tasted as delicious as any Crispy Chicken, which was sided with gravy sauce and shredded carrots. I would definitely order this again, if I were to go with a large party again.
The restaurant over all is a 3/5. The service was friendly, but they seem slightly distracted with each other. They should keep all their attention on pleasing their customers in every single possible way.
The environment and placement of tables and chairs were all right. It felt a bit crapped since the restaurant was full. They should make it more spacious.
The dishes that I had in general were delicious. The placement of food around the dish were very spacious, it looked very appealing.
I would eat here again if I had the chance.
Location of restaurant: Ground Floor, SM Mall Davao, Davao, Philippines

[Food, Review] Da Rae Jung

Good day my darling readers, I apologize to all of you for not blogging about food in a month or so. Here is one review of a restaurant I recently went to for dinner, to make it up to all of you!
Da Rae Jung
Da Rae Jung is a Korean restaurant that serves Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese dishes but mainly focuses  on the Korean dishes and cuisines.

I went there for dinner a few nights back, with my sister and her boyfriend

From when we entered, there was an usher assisting us inside the restaurant. They have a smoking area and a non smoking area, we chose the non smoking so we sat upstairs. As we found our seats the menus were handed to us straight away.

We took a while to decide what we wanted to have but we finally did, eventually.
When the waitress took our orders, a few minutes later, the waitress came back to our table to hand out their appetizers.

My guess is that they are all mostly fish and vegetarian. I tried a few of them only, not wanting to spoil my dinner, and because I was too scared. xD
The ones I tried tastes good, it tasted like the food we usually cook at home (since I'm half Filipina and half Bahraini)

A few minutes after the waitress brought us the appetizers, she and a waiter came with tray of the food that we ordered. Now that's what I call fast service.
When I was looking through the menu, I had no idea what to order, until I saw Sweat and Sour, my favorite.

The dish tasted like any other type of sweat an sour dish, it's sweat and sour. The dish was also served with rice. I had to eat with chopsticks and a spoon, which, I'm grateful wasn't much of challenge.

After the main course, we decided to have dessert. We asked the waitress if they has any dessert, and she replied saying that they didn't have anything special except for Ice Cream.
We had the choice of choosing 1-2 flavors of ice cream, and the only available flavors they had were, Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla. The three major flavors of ice cream. I chose a Strawberry and Chocolate ice Cream.

It was served in an ice cream glass, with a small twirl of whip cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles and pretzels on the side.
I personally think that pretzels with ice cream isn't a good mix. It's just too salty. Ice cream is great as always, the sprinkles gave it a bit of a crunch. I loved it.

ambiance = appropriate for a normal Asian restaurant
staff = very friendly, was greeted when going in and going out with a bow.
food = delicious
timing = quick (I loved it)
portion size of dish = good for one - two people, depending on what type of dish you order

★★★★

For those who live in Bahrain, you can find the restaurant in somewhere in Adliya. I'm so bad with giving out directions. Sorry!

[Book, Review] The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Summary:
Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18C. Hadley's in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

Review:
Omg I cannot believe I fished this book in one day. I've been reading it since I woke up this morning and finished it after lunch. This is the first book that I've actually finished in less than 24 hours. ACHIEVEMENT!

Lets start from the beginning. Hadley is great. She's a typical mature 17 year old. She has missed her plane and now she has to take the next flight. And Oliver is a typical hot English 18 year old, who will be on the next flight with Hadley. Their both travelling alone to London to attend specific events. They meet at the airport. I actually find it great to meet new people at the airport, especially if you'll be sitting next to them during the flight. I love the idea.

I just couldn't put the book down at all for the whole morning. I was a bit sick so I had to stay in bed for the whole morning, and I had such a great time reading this while in bed.

I love the title "The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight".
The Cover was fantastic. It fits with both the title and the contents of the book.
I loved the story line, I loved the whole contents of it, I loved the way it was written, how it was presented. Details were perfect. It was very realistic. It was a typical love at first sight story, but there was something about it.
It makes me believe that Love can just happen any where and at any time, and it doesn't matter how much time you spend with that person. 10 hours can feel like 10 years. Amazing.

This is my new favorite book. I cannot say anything else.

[Books, Review] Vampire Dimitri by Colleen Gleason

Summary
A Dracule nobleman, Dimitri has been annoyed--and bewitched--by his mortal ward Maia Woodmore for too long. In the looming battle between Dracule factions, all pretenses will shatter as Maia and Dimitri come together in an unholy union of danger, desperation, and fiercest desire.

Review
Vampire Dimitri, the second edition to A Book of the Regency Draculia.
I took so long with this book. It felt like ages., but it was actually just a few weeks.

Even though it's a really good book, I really enjoyed reading it, but I don't have the drive to actually read it for some reason.

I have to be honest, that I skipped some parts that repeated itself from Vampire Voss, and the parts with Chas and Narcise. I'm sorry, I'm just not very fond of them both.

I love how Dimitri and Maia's love is similar to Beauty and the Beast. It's so romantic !

The ending was good. I didn't expect those certain events to occur. I thought Alexander would find another person he loves, then him and Maia will have to not get married. But Noo... He had to turn because he is stupid. I never really liked Alexander.

The book all in all was great. I would recommend it to those who love reading historical romance and paranormal books.
Even though I won't be reading Vampire Narcise.
